1200 specimens belonging to species protected by European and Italian legislation:Buntings (Emberiza spp), Brambling (Fringilla montifringilla), Siskins (Carduelis spinus), Medow Pipit (Anthus pratensis), Goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis) and Bluethroat (Luscunia svercica) It is the amount of dead birds that ten Italian hunters were trying to bring to Italy after a hunting tourism period in Romania.
The CUTFAA Forestry Carabinieri (former Corpo Forestale) at the ”Orio al Serio airport” in Bergamo intercepted and reported the seizure of these 1200 birds.
