The Inspectorate of the Nature and Forest Agency seized eighteen rare birds in a shop of a trader last week (4-8 February 2019).
The leg rings of these birds were manipulated, indicating illegal trade. On the black market you can make a lot of money with the sale of rare birds.
The birds, which were very diverse, were found in the back of the shop in Dessel. These were Waxwings ( (Bombycilla garrulus) , Short-toed Lark ( Calandrella brachydactyla), Conr Bunting (Miliaria calendra), Rock Bunting ( Emberiza cirlus), Red-headed Bunting (Emberiza bruniceps), Pine Bunting ( Emberiza leucocephalos), Pine Grosbeak (Pinicola enucleator) and Siberian Rubythroat (Luscinia calliope)
