Six French poachers have to pay fines for catching young Greylag goose at the Oostvaardersplassen. The five men and a woman were caught in the protected nature area this spring.
Four men who were caught in the act on April 22, were fined each € 2,000 fine, of which € 1,000 were conditional.
They had caught 45 gray goose chicks, four of whom had already died. They were seated with fifteen companions in a tightly packed bag. The French also wanted to bring 18 goose eggs to breed them at home in an incubator.
