Saturday morning 18-11-2017, Italian WWF gamekeepers, together with CABS staff caught a poacher in the Pavia (Lombardy / Northern Italy). The poacher had set up an electronic bait box in the Po Valley, and apparently shot at everything that passed.
All together he had shot 11 Reed bunting (Emberiza schoeniclus) , 1 Corn bunting (Miliaria calandra) and 4 Meadow pipits ( Anthus pratensis) (see photo).
All three species are not allowed to hunt throughout the EU and are now threatened almost everywhere in Europe! A criminal case was started against the poacher
